Trombones bring weight and grandeur — historically the church's own brass voice, used for centuries to underline the sacred. In the Australian Christian Orchestra the trombone section anchors the big chorale and processional moments.
Auditioning as a trombonist
Grade 7+ AMEB (or equivalent). Send a short video. Tenor and bass trombonists both welcome.

Both. Bass trombonists are especially welcome — they're harder to find.
Is there alto trombone work?
Rarely, in specific repertoire. Not required to join.
